The Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) is an initiative by Barack Obama. During the NSS 2014, 53 world leaders gathered in the World Forum to discuss global nuclear security. Within the communications team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nienke was responsible for outdoor branding along the A4 motorway and in The Hague, positioning The Hague as the City of Peace and Justice. She also organised a media programme on various topics for the 3000 journalists in the Gemeentemuseum.
